Clear your browser's cache and cookies

HTTP cookies
Cookie is a small piece of text information that a web server or application can store in your browser. This allows to remember e.g. your selected settings, configuration on the visited pages, your searches and your online sessions.

Clearing cookies in your browser may resolve various problems with signing in or with staying logged in. This should also eliminate problems with permissions if e.g. some settings have been made to your ProofHQ profile and in your browser there is still information about the previous session (from before the changes).

Most of browsers automatically remove older or expired cookies but it's a good practice to remove this data regularly as this can be used to compromise your privacy if someone gains access to your computer.

Cache
Cache is an area where downloaded parts of the web pages and applications are stored (e.g. images, scripts, CSS files etc.) This allows to speed up your web browsing as the pages data doesn't need to be retrieved every time - it simply loads from your computer.

This is a great solution for improving performance, however with this you may not always have the most recent version of the web pages loaded in your browser as the old data will be loaded instead of updating the content. As a result the pages may be freezing, some elements may not be displayed properly and some functions may not be working.

Please note: In ProofHQ every other week we do release new features, enhancements and critical fixes to the system so we do recommend clearing your browser's cache regularly. This should ensure that all the data is compatible and up to date.

Over time all the collected temporary files may significantly slow your computer and browser down as cache takes up your disk space and your browser needs to manage all this content. Clearing this data should improve overall performance.
